Honouring a Sheffield legend

In 2015 classical music lost one of its most imaginative and inspirational musicians. Peter Cropper will be remembered for his enormous contribution to chamber music, as leader of the internationally renowned Lindsay Quartet, founder of Music in the Round, the University’s Director of Performance, and a dear friend and colleague to many. Through his outstanding musicianship, generosity, and enthusiasm, he truly cultivated ambition and inspired so many young performers to fulfil their potential. This performance honours this, and current and former students, friends and colleagues join in our annual tribute to Peter’s work.

  • George Butterworth: A Shropshire Lad
  • Michael Tippett: Little Music for Strings
  • Ernest Chausson: Poeme
