Two uplifting masses from Haydn and Schubert, plus a secular interlude from Butterworth

POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER FORECAST. This concert will be rescheduled in due course.

Haydn is proving a popular choice for choirs this spring. His Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo is more familiarly known as the "Little Organ Mass", and with George Parsons on the Holy Trinity organ this will certainly be a treat. Schubert composed his Mass in G, another of the shorter masses, in less than a week, but Escafeld are spending a little longer getting it up to performance standard! We are delighted that our 2017/18 Associate Soloist, Tim Peters will be joined by last year's soloist, Keren Hadas, in the Schubert. By way of complete contrast, in between the two masses, Tim will also be singing Butterworth's setting of Housman's A Shropshire Lad.

Performers

Escafeld Chorale, Nigel Russell (Conductor), George Parsons (Organ), Keren Hadas (Soprano), Timothy Peters (Tenor) and Harry Stanton (Baritone)
