Live music for babies/ toddlers with their grown-ups

Join guitarist Tom McKinney for a concert including music by J.S Bach, Isaac Albeniz and Heitor Villa Lobos. With bubbles, percussion, props and informal introductions, this is a fun and informal listening gig for adults and their young children.

Tom McKinney is a classical guitarist, broadcaster and music administrator based in the Derbyshire Peak District. A familiar voice on BBC Radio 3, Tom presents the Lunchtime and Afternoon Concerts, Hear & Now, live matinee concerts with the BBC Philharmonic, Radio 3 In Concert, is a regular contributor to The Essay and Record Review, has written and presented numerous features, and in the last six years has also presented Breakfast, Opera on 3 and live outdoor broadcasts throughout the country. As a guitarist, Tom has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at the BBC Proms, Aldeburgh Festival, Brighton Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Spitalfields Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, KammerKlang at Café Oto, London Contemporary Music Festival, Buxton Festival, St.Magnus Festival, Warwick Festival and Lancaster International Concert Series. He teaches guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music and is an audition consultant for Live Music Now! Tom is the Programme Manager at Music in the Round, where he organises the chamber music series and Sheffield Chamber Music Festival in the Crucible Theatre. He also curates the new music series at Kettle's Yard Art Gallery in Cambridge.


Children free/ adults £6.50/ 2 adult offer £11 (in advance - booking fees apply) and £7.50 per adult (on the door - if any tickets are left). When booking your ticket, please state the number of free children's spaces too.

Pre-sales end at 6pm the evening before the concert.

- Main pub doors open at 10.15am, Backroom doors open at 11.30.

- No need to print your ticket. Just tell us your name on the door.

- Free tea, coffee and biscuits are provided (the bar will be selling food and drinks after the concert)

- You are responsible for the safety of your own children and belongings.

- Buggies can be left in the main bar and we encourage you to put coats and bags on the stage area.

- There is naappy changing facilities and feel free to breastfeed.

- This is a listening concert so we encourage you to not chat throughout so your fellow audience members and little ones can really enjoy the music.
