Live music with sensory elements and a musical story

The first of the new series of Story Concerts for 3 and 4 year olds!

Join harpist Louise Thomson and narrator Polly Ives for a musical story of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's Tiddler. There will also be music by Smetana, McKay as well as improvised classical and jazzy harp music exploring fish and the sea. This event includes image projections, singing, bubbles, percussion, props and informal introductions and is a great way to introduce young children to live music in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Polly Ives presents children's concerts around the UK with groups including London Philharmonic Orchestra, Ensemble 360, London Mozart Players, Royal Opera House. She has worked with CBeebies and the Beatrix Potter Attraction. She has led numerous education projects with Music in the Round, including a series of musical stories in Sheffield this May and is currently a lead musician in a project in 18 nurseries in the South East of Sheffield. She has coached the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain, CSYO and has worked with Sheffield Music Hub, Sheffield Music School and is Chair of Sheffield Young Singers. She also is founder and director of Concerteenies and has a 9 month old and a 3 year old.

Louise has performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Bridgewater Hall, alongside the Hallé Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, National Symphony Orchestra and many more. She has performed live on BBC Radio 3, and made her television debut performing live on BBC 1 alongside soprano Katherine Jenkins. She has performed for HRH Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at The Royal Variety Performance and, with the Live Music Now Scheme, she has toured the UK giving solo recitals and educational workshops to an enormous range of audiences. She has performed several times at Concerteenies and is always a big hit!
