Proms finale

Featuring Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra, Unite the Union Brass Band and the winning performers of our very first Sing to Win Competition, Movie Music in the Gardens brings together a string of classic tunes spanning from the Golden age of Hollywood to the present day.

Based in the cultural heart of the steel city, Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra has been a regular performer at Music in the Gardens since the early days of the popular event.

Founded in 1945 as the Sheffield Amateur Symphony Orchestra, it draws on draw on players of all ages and backgrounds from across Yorkshire & the Humber, Derbyshire & Lincolnshire. The orchestra’s ethos and spirit has always remained the same; to provide a medium for amateur players of all ages and backgrounds to flourish.

Unite the Union is one of South Yorkshire's most successful bands, having performed at some of the world's best known and loved music venues. They're no stranger to the silver screen themselves, having featured in the Full Monty as well as making numerous TV appearances!

As usual, the evening will culminate with a fireworks display, bringing Music in the Gardens 2019 to a spectacular close.
