Women of Steel

Sparks fly and spirits soar in this bold new production from Sheffield City Opera, telling the true stories of women who worked in the city’s munitions factories during World War Two. Staged among the remains of Kelham Island’s industrial past, this powerful tale takes on a special resonance.

Please note that for today’s performances at Kelham Island the main lift by the bridge is broken but there is a ramp into the main space. If anyone would like to use the ramp please speak to a volunteer or member of staff at the entrance (under the bridge). There is disabled parking outside the bessemer (by main entrance and ramp, this will be coned off. Please speak to the SIMT staff at the entrance to use this parking.
