Join Martin Harwood (guitar/ fiddle/ vocals) and Polly Ives (narrator/ cello) for a concert including the song 'A Squash and a Squeeze' written by Julia Donaldson, Axel Scheffler in A Treasury of Songs. Giving young children (and their grown-ups) the unique opportunity to hear quality live music up-close, there will be singing, bubbles, percussion, props, informal introductions and storytelling.

Multi-instrumentalist and community musician Martin Harwood (fiddle, guitar, banjo, vocals) is a well known figure on the local and national traditional music scene primarily for his touring and recording work with bands Skyhook and Caravanserai. He is also a regular fiddle player and caller with numerous local Ceilidh bands. Alongside his performing work Martin has nearly 20 years’ experience as an early years musician, educator and trainer. He combines exceptional musicianship with a passion for making music fun and accessible for all. He has delivered thousands of sessions in early years settings and community spaces across South Yorkshire and delivers regular training sessions for Sheffield South East Learning Partnership, Derby University and Music in the Round. Martin runs the hugely popular “Small Voices Big Noises” weekly drop-in music sessions for 0-4s and adults. Polly Ives presents children's concerts around the UK with groups including London Philharmonic Orchestra, Ensemble 360, London Mozart Players, Royal Opera House. She has worked with CBeebies and the Beatrix Potter Attraction. She has led numerous education projects with Music in the Round, including annual tours of story concerts touring the UK and is currently a lead musician in a project in 18 nurseries in the South East of Sheffield. She has coached the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain, CSYO and has worked with Sheffield Music Hub, Sheffield Music School and is Chair of Sheffield Young Singers.
