Prizewinning Dover Quartet plays Mozart, Hindemith and Brahms
'One of the world's finest young string quartets' (The New Yorker) makes its Sheffield debut
“One of the world’s finest young string quartets” (the New Yorker), and winner of four prizes at the prestigious Banff String Quartet Competition in Canada, the Dover Quartet is Quartet-in-Residence at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
For this debut Studio recital, the Philadelphia-based quartet has chosen Hindemith’s concise and passionate Third Quartet alongside Mozart's Adagio and Fugue in C minor and Brahms’s Quartet in B flat, featuring tender viola melodies, and described by the composer as “very dainty, but brilliant!”.
“Expert musicianship, razor-sharp ensemble, deep musical feeling and a palpable commitment to communication.” Chicago Tribune
