Ensemble-playing Workshop & Christmas Social
...for adult beginners of violin, viola, cello and double bass, approximately Grade 1 - 5 standard.
Have you started to learn to play an instrument recently, or are you a returning, rather rusty, player? Perhaps your aim is to join an orchestra? This workshop will give you the opportunity to experience what playing in an ensemble is like in a fun, relaxed and stress-free environment.
The workshop is aimed at players who have never played in an ensemble before, or have had very little experience.
We will tackle a number of short ensemble pieces, in a variety of styles. There will be a number of different parts to choose from, of varying levels of difficulty, and we will play music in first position only. The aim is to manage playing together, not to tackle difficult or very challenging music, although I hope the pieces will be enjoyable to play!

We will play music from our current repertoire and also some traditional carols and seasonal music.
Workshops are COVID-secure:
- masks must be worn (if you are able)
- numbers limited to 20 players maximum
- well-ventilated room
- lots of space between seats
- hand sanitiser station
