Our Favourite Songs!
A free, joint concert by Steel City Choristers and PXI community choir to celebrate the end of the Reasons to Sing! project
Over the last year, Steel City Choristers and social inclusion
charity Parson Cross Initiative (PXI) have been working together to
explore the stories and emotions behind people’s favourite songs. This
concert will bring our two communities together through choral music to
tell these stories and perform these songs.
For each of six themes (love, loss, gratitude, unity, routine and
comfort), there is one song chosen by a member of PXI (and sung in SATB
by Steel City Choristers combined with the PXI community choir), and a
piece from the choral repertoire sung by Steel City Choristers. Videos
of clips showing why people chose particular songs will also be shown as
part of the concert.
Reasons to Sing! has been funded by Awards for All and the Worrall Male Voice Choir Grants Foundation.
