Sounds of the City - Sinsontes
Short concert featuring local music makers
Originally booked for 2020, Sinsontes are a sixteen-strong chamber choir, whose core repertoire consists of Spanish part-songs dating mainly from the 1500s, and twentieth-century Cuban popular songs. We also perform some works from other Hispanic cultures and times, for example contemporary Catalonia and Chile.
We enjoy the challenge of interpreting the sentiments of these beautiful songs in their original languages (usually Spanish, sometimes Catalan or Latin), and we hope to draw our audience closer to the experience by providing simple summaries in English.
Please note the earlier time of 10.30 and unfortunately there will be no refreshments at this concert. Feel free to bring your own!
