50th anniversary celebration concert

Hallam Sinfonia celebrates 50 years as an orchestra by welcoming its new Musical Director!

We celebrate our 50th anniversary, and the arrival of our new Musical Director, with this special concert that brings together past and present. Beethoven's 1st symphony was performed at the orchestra's very first concert; Brahms' 4th symphony should have been performed with Jon Malaxetxebarria in March 2020, before the concert was cancelled due to the pandemic; and a celebratory fanfare written for the occasion by Sheffield-based composer (and Hallam Sinfonia cellist) Benjamin Jackson brings us right up to the present day.
