City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra Spring Concert

Come and hear Sheffield's most talented young instrumentalists perform two epic works for orchestra!

'Saw sixteen swans,’ wrote Jean Sibelius. ‘One of the greatest experiences in life. Oh god, what beauty!’

This dazzling vision became the inspiration for the crowning theme of his 5th Symphony, and it's the climax of an evening packed with emotional intensity.

In the first half of the concert, the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra welcomes soloist Katya Apekisheva to perform one of the most popular concertos in the piano repertoire - Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto no 1.
