String orchestra concert
Baroque to twentieth-century string music
Gerrard Sinfonia is a string chamber orchestra of around 15 musicians. Many of the players belong to larger symphony orchestras in Huddersfield and Sheffield but enjoy the intimacy of playing in this small group. They explore unusual repertoire and members of the orchestra arrange pieces to suit the ensemble. The core repertoire is the Baroque period and this enables individual players to take the lead as soloists.
Performers
Gerrard Sinfonia (string orchestra), Barbara Bancroft (conductor) and Charlotte Kenyon and Deborah Blewitt (solo violin)
