Bright is the ring of words
something for everyone - from theatre to folk song
Benedict began his singing career at the age of seven as a chorister in York Minster. As a teenager he was involved in musical theatre in York before joining the National Youth Choir, during which time he sang at the Proms. He currently sings in Sheffield with the Steel City Choristers, bringing services of Choral Evensong to churches around the area, and with Albion, a small chamber choir with a varied repertoire.
His programme in Darton reflects this wide interest in different styles of music, with a collection of folk songs, an excerpt from ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Thou Art the King’ from Stainer’s ‘Crucifixion’, which he sang in Darton during Holy Week this year.
