St Augustine’s Church
The Parish Church of St Augustine’s Endcliffe is a welcoming, inclusive and progressive church with traditional services and beautiful music. We have a mixed robed choir, singing a mix of traditional and more modern hymns. St Augustine’s stands in the liberal catholic tradition of the Church of England, with Holy Communion most Sundays.
The fine three-manual organ at St Augustine’s was made and installed in 1899 by the Sheffield organ builder Albert Keates. The organ is used at every service to accompany the choir and congregation, and for organ voluntaries. We actively encourage young people and students to use the organ for practice – we are keen that students who may have played the church organ at any level in their home town should be able to continue when they come to Sheffield. As a performance venue, the church is spacious with an excellent acoustic for choral and organ music. Wheelchair accessible. Kawai digital piano.
