The Pirates of Penzance
Grenoside and Birley Carr Players present
Gilbert & Sullivan’s swashbuckling comic operetta
‘The Pirates of Penzance’
Pirate apprentice Frederic is about to celebrate his 21st birthday and the end of his indentures… or is he?
The Pirates of Penzance are set to drop anchor and spread comic confusion as they solve the mystery of Frederic’s birth date, pursue a bevy of beautiful sisters, tangle with the verbose Major General Stanley and avoid being caught by a herd of sheepish policemen.
It’s not quite the birthday Frederic expected… but there are plenty of surprises, delightful music and irresistible songs while everything gets worked out.
“Tarantara, tarantara!”
