Sterndale Singers: Christmas Concert

Sterndale Singers Christmas concert has a joyful Latin American flavour this year, for which we are joined by David Watkin-Holmes (tenor) as well as musicians on guitar, violin, double bass, percussion and piano.

We will be performing two pieces by Argentine composer Ariel Ramirez. “Navidad Nuestra” which tells the story of the Annunciation, pilgrimage to Bethlehem, Nativity, arrival of the shepherds, gifts of the three kings, and the Flight into Egypt – in Spanish and to the foot tapping rhythms of Argentine traditional music. “Misa Criolla” is his very popular setting of the mass in Spanish using Latin American folkloric dance rhythms.

Traditional early Spanish & Latin American villancicos and English carols will accompany the main programme, to add to the anticipation of the coming of Christmas. Seasonal refreshments will be served in the interval.

Book tickets online or purchase on the door: General Admission £15, Students £6, Under 16 free.
