Pull Out All the Stops – Organ Recital by Adam Heron (Coventry Cathedral)

22nd November 2025 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Free entry, donations towards organ rebuild fund

Organ Recital given by Adam Heron (organ scholar, Coventry Cathedral) in aid of the organ restoration fund
We’re delighted to welcome Adam back to St. Augustine’s for a varied programme of organ solos, bringing out the full expressive range of this magnificent organ.

Adam is from Durham and started piano lessons at an early age, later learning to play the organ. From 2017-2022 he studied engineering at the University of Sheffield, and while at Sheffield, he used the St Augustine’s organ for practice, and took part in several of our recitals. In September 2025 he started studying for the MMus degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, alongside which he has been appointed to the position of Organ Scholar at Coventry Cathedral.

Adam says “I would not be where I am now in terms of my organ playing without the church’s kindness and trust in allowing me to practice on the organ while I was in Sheffield.”

The fine 3-manual pipe organ at St. Augustine’s was built in 1899 by Sheffield organ builder Albert Keates, and it now needs a full rebuild at a cost of around £150,000. For more details about the organ see https://organ91.wordpress.com/
