Beethoven, Fauré, Mayer and Rutter
13th March 2027 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Our second concert of the season pairs stirring drama with radiant lyricism. Emilie Mayer’s Overture No 2 in D opens with bold symphonic sweep, while Fauré’s serene Cantique de Jean Racine and works by Rutter offer moments of luminous calm. The evening culminates in Beethoven’s groundbreaking Eroica symphony – a work of heroic scale and emotional depth that redefined the possibilities of the symphony. A powerful programme charting music’s journey from elegance to revolution. We welcome again Hohn Lyon as our conductor.
