Liz Hanks performs ‘Land’ with support from Manon McCoy Liz Hanks & Manon McCoy

Cellist Liz Hanks uses field recordings and loop pedal to explore a forgotten, natural world.

Based on the local and natural history of her neighbourhood in Sheffield, Liz Hanks’ album ‘Land’ (Hudson Records) explores a forgotten natural world. The music draws on Liz’s influences: minimalism, folk, Indian classical music and improvisation. Inspired by reading written accounts of the lost valley of Rush Dale she performs music with cello, field recordings and loop pedal alongside story telling and visuals to bring these forgotten places back to life.
