A Northern Requiem

This new work by Jonathan Francis blends text from the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass with poetry and music reflecting on the 1984/85 miners’ strike and the subsequent decline of coal mining, with its devastating effects locally. For this second performance, Escafeld Chorale are joining the Rose Choir and Harlequin Brass for a fundraising concert to support the Rose Hill Arts Centre initiative, which strives to establish a self-reliant, community-led arts venue that promotes artistic expression and community involvement.
