6 from 900 Choral Day

I wonder if those of you who are experienced choral singers might be interested in singing some rather wonderful music for a day?

I will be directing a day of hard work and singing at a high level, singing some music by Hildegard of Bingen (surely the first ever ‘great’ composer after ‘Anon’ – and a woman, Yay!) an arrangement of her O Frondens Virga for SATB by American composer Chris Foss. It is quite remarkable! Do check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AkESs-7_98
As well as that we will sing music by Palestrina, Lassus, Gesualdo, Grieg and Swedish composer Nils Lindberg – his lovely setting of Shall I Compare Thee…..

The singers who come on these days prepare their parts in advance so there is no note bashing, just working on the music from the start. I promise you, these days are really rewarding musically as well as socially – all enhanced by excellent refreshments. We finish the day with an informal sing though for family and friends, in the fabulous acoustic of St Mark’s Broomhill

February 22nd, St Mark’s Broomhill, 10.00 – 5.00
