A Perfect Day – Songs of Night and Light

‘A Perfect Day’ – Songs of Night and Light will feature choral music from a range of styles, ages and composers. This concert will combine music from well known composers such as Gerald Finzi, Jerome Kern, Bob Chilcott and John Rutter with a fascinating collection of newer music from less familiar composers including Tarik O’Regan, Eriks Esenvalds, Ethel Smyth, Elaine Hagenburg, Florence Price, Sarah Quartel, Steven James Brown and Laura Mvula, Rheinberger, Lou Reed and of course, our composer in residence, Sue Hughes. It is worth noting that some of our pieces have been arranged by another of our talented choir members, Zoe Birtwhistle. Also featured in this performance will be ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ by Ola Gjeilo, in which we will be accompanied by the Lumenox String Quartet.

The concert will be conducted by our musical director Kate Shipway and piano accompaniment will be provided by Linda Wareham.

Please note, tickets purchased in advance will be £13, whilst tickets purchased on the door will be £15….. so get your tickets soon!
