Metamorphosen

Written during the final year of World War 2, Richard Strauss’ deeply moving work for 23 strings players is a lament to the colossal destruction of his beloved German cities. Together with conductor Richard Jenkinson, the Hallam Sinfonia strings bring you a rare Sheffield performance of this incredible piece, together with Mozart’s Divertimento in F and Elgar’s Serenade for Strings. The concert will last just over an hour.
