Open Music Workshop: Come and join CoMA Sheffield for an afternoon of music making, even if you don’t play an instrument!

Come and join CoMA Sheffield for an afternoon of music making, even if you don’t play an instrument!
There will be a whole group performance of Sarah Hennies’ “Growing Block”, a piece that is ideal for players of any ability and instrument, including regular instruments, voice, saucepans, wine glasses, sheets of newspaper etc.
Depending on numbers and time, there may also be an opportunity to explore novel ways of collaborating with others to create music, using sudoku puzzles, take away menus and magic squares.
This workshop is open to anyone over the age of 18 who wants to explore new, fun ways of creating music in a relaxed atmosphere. It is ideal for composers, teachers of music who are looking for new ways to inspire students in composition, instrumentalists who are looking for something a bit different and anyone who just wants to come and have a go.
The workshop starts and 1.00pm and ends at 3.30pm.
What to bring
- Something (or several things) that make an interesting noise, and your instrument if you play one.
- A music stand if you have one.
