Martin Harwood and Cath James perform jigs, reels and Scottish songs for 0-5 year olds and their grown-ups.

Join Martin Harwood and Cath James (fiddles/ guitar/ vocals) for a Burns Night special - foot-stomping jigs and reels, beautiful Scottish songs and a chance to join the kids in some ceilidh (Scottish) dancing.

With songs, dancing, listening as well as bubbles, percussion, props and informal introductions, this is a fun and informal gig for adults and their 0-5 year-old children.

Martin Harwood (fiddle, guitar, vocals) and Cath James (fiddle, viola) are well known on the local and national traditional music scene for their touring and recording work with various highly acclaimed bands including Skyhook, Caravanserai (Martin) and Roger the Badger (Cath). Martin is a highly experienced community musician and music educator, with a particular interest in early years. He also delivers regular training for Sheffield South East Learning Partnership, Derby and York Universities and Music in the Round. He combines exceptional musicianship with a passion for making music fun and accessible for all. Cath is an award-winning fiddle player and superb composer, she was a finalist in the BBC Young Tradition Award, Niel Gow International Fiddle Composition Award and the Amber Fiddle Award, and has graced stages across the world from California to Taipei. She is a sought-after folk fiddle teacher for learners of all ages and abilities and makes violins in her spare time.


Adults £9, first child goes free. Additional children £2.50, under 1s free. Refunds are only available when requested 1 week before the start of the event.


  • We have Covid-19 secure procedures in place - visit our website to read the complete risk assessment. Please don't arrive more than 5 minutes before your concert. Masks are encouraged but not compulsory. No equipment is shared and rigorous cleaning takes place between concerts.
