English music from Purcell to William Alwyn

Ruth Berresford left her home town of Penistone to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, following which she has forged a successful career as a professional musician based in London. She returns to her home town to play as part of Penistone Arts Weeks. She is joined by Classical Sheffield member Elizabeth Charlesworth to fulfil along held ambition to perform the Vaughan Williams setting of Blakes poems. Jonathan Bickley completes the trio of musicians for these two events in Darton on Saturday and Penistone on Sunday 25 and 26 March.
