Virtuosic, lyrical Horn and Piano playing

Join us for an exciting evening discovering some of the most virtuosic works in the horn repertoire: music in turn that is technically challenging, melodically beautiful, lyrical and flamboyant. Ben Goldscheider, rising star of horn playing will be partnered on the piano by the accomplished and sensitive playing of Richard Uttley.

Ben Goldscheider has given recitals at major concert halls across Europe and in the UK to great acclaim. Ben was a BBC Young Musician Brass Final winner in 2016, and made his BBC Proms concerto debut in 2022. He is a member of the Boulez Ensemble and Principal Horn of Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. Recordings include Legacy: A Tribute to Dennis Brain with newly commissioned pieces by Huw Watkins and Roxanna Panufnik. (Photo: Kaupo Kikkas)

Richard Uttley graduated from Cambridge University with a double first in music and then studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD) with Martin Roscoe.
