Consone Quartet
Experience classical and romantic music expressively performed in period style
With performances variously described as brilliant, exhilerating, sensitive, honest and something special we are delighted to welcome the Consone Quartet to Bradfield.
Formed at the Royal College of Music in London, the Consone Quartet launched their professional career in 2015 and were the first period instrument ensemble to be selected as BBC New Generation Artists. Their reputation has led them to perform in Europe and America as well as extensive engagements in the UK. They have won the 2015 York Early Music Festival EUBO Development Trust Prize and a place on the EEEmerging Scheme in France. They went on to win the 2016 Royal Over-Seas League Ensemble Prize, and in 2022 were awarded a prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust (BBT) Fellowship. The Consone Quartet have released highly acclaimed recordings of quartets by Haydn and Mendelssohn.
In 2024, Consone begins a new partnership with the Frost Trust as “Visiting Quartet” at Sheffield’s Music in the Round. They have been appointed as Saxon Shore Early Music Kenardington Artists-in-Residence for 2024-2027. (Photo- Matthew Johnson)
