Crucifixion by Stainer
a chance to sing this work for Passiontide in the beautiful church of All Saints Darton
Stainer's Crucifixion was sung in the villages up and down the east Pennines at Easter time. The habit has been lost but there are still singers who know the work and enjoy singing it. If you are one of those please come along. If you have never sung it you will find it a rewarding 'sing'. Only a very basic knowledge of sight-singing is needed, or a good ear, or both. if you are a wannabee soloist there are a few lines by the High Priest and the robbers so don't be shy to put your hand up.
