Iolanthe, a firm favourite with Gilbert & Sullivan fans. Phyllis and Strephon are a young couple in love. All would be well were he not half-fairy, half-mortal, the son of the banished Iolanthe and she the ward of the Lord Chancellor, who, tired of seeing his many other wards married off to lucky young men, has finally decided that he wants to remarry. Of course, true love never did run smooth, and with a chorus of peerless peers and attitude-laden fairies you have the recipe for a fun show.
