Abbeydale Strings

A group of friendy string players who enjoy making music together in a relaxed setting

We are a group of friendly string players who delight in making music together. We are of varying standards, from Grade 3 to 7, with the common aim of enjoying different repertoires available to string ensembles. Some of us have recently taken up our instruments again after a long gap. Many of us do play in other amateur orchestras but appreciate the specific sound and music for strings. We don't give concerts, preferring to play a wide range of music in a relaxed environment.

We play a variety of classical and light music under our professional conductor, Charlotte Pinder, who gives us lots of useful advice on technique.

How to get involved

We meet on Wednesday evenings during term time, 7-9pm at King Ecgbert's School, Totley Brook Road, Sheffield S17 3QU.

A very warm welcome is given to new members by this friendly and supportive group.

Come and try us out! If you've recently started playing again, Abbeydale Strings is just the group for you.

We regularly have vacancies, but there may be a waiting list for some instruments.
