Sheffield Youth Orchestra Returning to Rehearsals on September 12th

News
After months of not performing together, SYO will be one of the first youth organisations to rehearse together again

It's fantastic news to hear that the Sheffield Youth Orchestra will be coming back together (within the guidance) and making music together again. Their conductor, George Morton, has created bespoke arrangements for the orchestra, which we are sure has kept him very busy!

The orchestra are able to return in two 'teams' (aptly named 'Team Lyceum' and 'Team Crucible'), which allow them to rehearse within the recent guidance from DCMS. The arrangements made by George will engage the players, whilst also being a fun return back to playing music with each other again.

The SYO are ensuring their return to rehearsals will be Covid-secure. From sanitising stations, signage, a well-ventilated rehearsal space, socially-distanced seating, thorough cleaning of the space, bespoke facemasks and a comprehensive risk assessment, it sounds like SYO are nearly ready to go!

SYO

SYO will be resuming rehearsals on Sat 12th September in their orchestra groups. No doubt they will soon be on the look out for some more players, so do have a look around their website: http://syosheffield.weebly.com/ and get in touch!
