Volunteer at the Classical Sheffield Fringe!

News
The Classical Sheffield Fringe is less than two weeks away and we are in the final stages of the planning process.

We’re extremely excited to hear some wonderful groups perform and hope that you are too!

We have some brilliant opportunities to volunteer at the Classical Sheffield Fringe weekend this March. With over 12 performances across two venues over two days, plus many more pop-up events around the city, it’s crucial that we have an enthusiastic bunch of volunteers who can be brilliant ambassadors for classical music in Sheffield.

Volunteering with Classical Sheffield gives you lots of demonstrable experience in an arts organisation and events management setting, which is great for the CV, and, more importantly, we guarantee you will have lots of fun! No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and a can do attitude!

A summary of the event and an outline of the roles can be found below:

Where: Sheffield City Centre (Virgin Money Lounge & the Winter Garden)

When: Saturday 10th March (9:30am - 3:30pm) and / or Sunday 11th March (9:30am - 3:30pm)

How do I sign up?  Here

Venues Supervisor

The Venues Supervisor liaise between the Front of House Supervisor and the performing group. You will be there to facilitate the smooth running of the performance and look after the ensemble. You will confirm with the group when they are ready to perform and inform the Front of House Supervisor when the performance is about to begin.

Front of House Supervisor

The Front of House Supervisor will liaise with the venues leader to ensure performances run to time as well as manage the crowd, ensuring that any minor disturbances are managed quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, you will be required to complete a post-performance report which asks how the performance was received and an estimation of numbers in the audience.

Classical Sheffield Ambassadors

You are the face of the Classical Sheffield Fringe! You will be required to distribute flyers for the events and talk to members of the public about classical music goings-on in the city. You may also be required to greet members of the public at the door and encourage them to come and listen!
