Support Us

Five ways you can support Classical Sheffield

Do you love classical music but aren’t a music maker or promoter? Then think about supporting us in one or more of the following five ways:

1. Become a Supporter

£10 a year enables you to become a Classical Sheffield Supporter. You benefit by:

  • knowing you are helping our amazing family of music lovers to make more music in more places with more people;
  • receiving our weekly listing of What’s On in and around Sheffield
  • occasional special offers
  • access to Early Bird tickets for festivals and other Classical Sheffield events

Please contact Rose Wilcox, Classical Sheffield Coordinator if you’d like to become a Supporter.

2. Donate

3. Join our Board or a Sub Group

Classical Sheffield has a board of Trustees that leads the long-term strategy of the organisation, ensures our finances and legal aspects are in order, and offers advice and support to the members. Our Constitution enables us to refresh the Board's membership on a regular basis, so we are always open to expressions of interest from individuals who believe in our aim of bringing more music to more people in more places. We think that the best organisations have a diversity of voices, so we welcome applications from anyone regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. In particular we would love to hear from people aged under 30 or who feel they are under-represented in the classical music scene.

The Trustees are informed by Sub Groups which include Trustees but also members and supporters of Classical Sheffield, so if Board membership isn't for you, do consider joining one of the following:

  • Membership Sub Group - deals with fees, membership benefits, ways to increase participation
  • Finance and Funding Sub Group – deals with finance, funding and policy
  • Events Sub Group – plans future events and activities and the related publicity

We welcome anyone who feels they have the skills and/or enthusiasm to contribute in either of these ways. Please contact Rose Wilcox, Classical Sheffield Coordinator if you’d like to join one of our Sub Groups and Jo Towler, Classical Sheffield Chair, if you are interested in hearing more about joining the Board.

4. Volunteer

We welcome volunteers, whether to help look after audiences at our festivals and other events, or more generally behind the scenes with administration or IT support. Please contact Rose Wilcox, Classical Sheffield Coordinator if you’d like to become a volunteer.

5. Attend our events

A great way to support us is to attend our events and those of our members. Browse What’s On to see what’s available and enjoy more music in more places with more people!
