Mozart: From darkness to light
Mozart’s Dissonance Quartet owes its title to the tortured harmonic nature of its unusual slow introduction, after which the characteristic joyfulness of the composer’s quartets is rapidly restored. The rich and inventive Piano Trio in E major was written in the fruitful summer of 1788 when he also composed his last three symphonies.
