Leonore Piano Trio
A grand finale for the cycle of Beethoven violin sonatas, cello sonatas and piano trios (concert 8 of 8).
“Playing with sumptuous breadth and beguiling warmth.” The Guardian
It is fitting that the Leonore Trio has saved the crowning masterpiece of Beethoven’s works for piano trio as the finale to this wonderful series. A noble and spacious work, celebrated for being almost a symphony for three musicians, the Archduke Trio overcame an inauspicious debut before going on to become one of the best-loved pieces of music for piano, violin and cello.
