Summer Concert: Sibelius, Arnold & Strauss
An evening of beautiful and powerful music
We invite you to join Hallam Sinfonia for the final concert of our 2018-19 season.
Our associate conductor George Morton - conductor & arranger will be returning with a programme of highly dramatic and richly romantic works: Malcolm Arnold’s Peterloo overture which commemorates the Manchester massacre of 1819, and Sibelius’s lush First Symphony evoking Northern landscapes. We’re also delighted to welcome back Andrea Tweedale Soprano as soprano soloist in Richard Strauss’s sublimely beautiful Four Last Songs, the composer’s swan song demonstrating his calm and accepting approach to death and his enduring love of his singer wife. (Better bring your tissues for this one!)
Tickets £10 adults, £2 for under-25s.
