Band Camp!
A brand new brass band summer school
The UniBrass Foundation presents “Band Camp”, a new exciting playing and social experience for brass/percussion playing university students, or anyone 18-25 not studying at university (anyone older than 25 but currently studying in higher education is also welcome to attend).
This 5 night residential Summer Camp will be based at Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre, Sheffield will include a mix of high-quality music tuition, masterclasses and performance opportunities led by David Thornton BA (RNCM), PPRNCM (Senior Tutor for Brass Bands at the RNCM and MD of Grimethorpe Brass Band). The week will be a blend of musical and social activity, based with either bunkhouse or camping accommodation and half board catering.
In true UniBrass style, there will be a balance of rehearsals, sectionals, and workshops with excursions, outdoor activities and plenty of evening entertainment.
There will also be performances at a number of locations across Sheffield, including informal tourist attractions and a final showcase concert. Guest tutors will be announced soon!
