"The ravening clouds shall not long be victorious" - Vaughan Williams Sea Symphony
Walt Whitman's visionary verse set to music in Vaughan Williams's Sea Symphony
This concert brings together words from two great devotional and visionary writers; Walt Whitman and George Herbert set to music by Vaughan Williams. The Sea Symphony is a work of great visionary rapture and the 5 mystical songs embody the spirituality of Herbert's simple, devotional poems.
We are pleased to be singing with Baritone Julian Van Mellaerts who represented New Zealand in this year's Cardiff singer of the world. He is joined by the soprano Naomi Harvey in what promises to be a special evening of music.
